How Do I Request Song Codes to be Merged at HFA?
If you notice more than one HFA song code for the same composition and these codes need to be merged into one, you may submit a Song Merge Request Form.
HFA will reach out to all parties involved to confirm, update, or resolve conflicts for mechanical royalty claims in addition to indicating a merge should occur. Following the processing of the merge, HFA will advise on the surviving song code.
To ensure smooth and timely resolution, we’ve outlined the song merge process below.
We request that all publishers use our Song Merge Request Template when submitting or disputing claims. This helps standardize the process and ensures that all necessary data is provided.
What you need to do:
If you have one set of song codes that need to be merged, complete the Song Merge Request Form [hyperlink form], providing your claimed shares per line and the song codes to be merged.
If you have multiple sets of song codes that need to be merged for various compositions, upload the completed template to HFA to initiate the merge process.

NOTE: If you notice that there is a conflict with current claims on the works requiring merge, you may also refer to the Duplicate Song Code Confirmation portion of our Knowledge Base below.
