How do I request the creation of a newly owned, administered, or sub-publishing account?

If you own or administer more than one publishing entity and would like to have your company as a stand alone publishing entity then you would need to submit a separate affiliation application with HFA.

However, if you already have an existing account, we can create a relationship between accounts and place them under your primary publishing entity or a separately designated entity under your control. This is known as a hierarchy.

For hierarchies, there are two options:

1) HFA can add them as accounts under a main one (top P#), but with each having unique tax and payment information. This option is commonly used when the publishing entity is an owned company and/or serves as an administrator on behalf of other publishing catalogs.

2) Administered relationship, where the Owner Publisher is administered by your owned entity, and payment is made to the administrator.

• This second option would be an "on behalf of" (OBO), meaning they would be listed as the administrating publisher OBO the claiming publisher. This would pay up to the chosen existing account and then payments can be divided later accordingly.
