When will I get paid?

HFA attempts to distribute royalties near the end of each month, with royalty statements becoming available in your Portal account approximately four days after the royalties have been distributed. Please note that these dates are subject to change at HFA's discretion and there may be more than one payment in a single month. Also, it is possible that you may not receive a payment during a particular distribution, as royalties accrue based on usage and licensing activity for your compositions, as well as distribution processing schedule and timing of royalty reporting by the licensee. Please be aware that statements will not be mailed and must be accessed via your HFA Portal account.

If you have signed up for Direct Deposit, you should receive your royalty payment within two days of the actual distribution date. You will receive an email notifying you that payment has been transmitted to your account. If you receive your payment by mail, please allow at least two weeks for your check to arrive. We encourage everyone to sign up for direct deposit.
